GREEK VOCALIST MERGING THE VIBRANT SPIRIT OF HER HERITAGE WITH CUBAN, BRAZILIAN AND JAZZ MUSIC.

Lydia Stavraki was born in Athens in 1994. She started singing and playing the piano at the age of eight. At nineteen she moved to the Netherlands to study psychology at Leiden University, but quickly found her way into the Dutch music scene and began playing in various bands from jazz to Greek music.
She received her BSc in psychology and BA in Latin Jazz (Brazilian and Cuban) music from Codarts Rotterdam with teachers like Jarmo Hoogendijk and Lilian Vieira. In 2022, she received the NL Scholarship, which gave her the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of Brazilian music during a semester at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
Between 2023 and 2024, she was a member of the Dutch National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NJJO) under the direction of renowned musician Maite Hontelé. In 2026, she traveled to Cuba for two months, supported by the Heij Konijn Fonds, to immerse herself in the local musical traditions by studying and performing alongside talented Cuban musicians.
